If GOD knows the future, why did he create angel and man who would sin?
I have been asking questions about the Bible and sharing the scriptures that answer the question in my church for a while. Some people give me question that they want help finding the answer for. This question is one of those questions. Most of the time the question I get from GOD comes to me when I am reading scripture. When this question was given to me, I was reading in Jeremiah 30:12-15 So I am going to use this scripture for this question. As I looked for scripture to answer the question i felt GOD telling me to separate the question into 4 different questions. As I share these questions on my blog, I am going to make 4 different blogs.
The 4 different questions are.
Does GOD know the future?
Did GOD know Adam and Eve were going to sin?
Why did GOD create angels?
Why did GOD create man?
For this question I am using a scripture that answered Why did GOD create man? The scripture I am using is Ephesians 3:10. My question is Why did GOD create Angels?
Ephesians 3:10 says. “So that through the church the manifold wisdom of GOD might now be made known to the rules and authorities in the heavenly places.” When I read the words rulers and authorities in the heavenly places, I think of angels. First, we need to look at what are angels and what do they do? I checked several different dictionary’s and I looked at the different places in the bible where angel was mentioned. These are the definition that I found for angels. Spiritual beings believed to act as an attendant, messenger, watchers, ministers of GOD’s will, gives praises and soldiers in GOD’s army.
The scripture I found for the different ways that angels work for GOD are:
Attendant is found in Luke 16:21-22 and 1 Kings 19:5-6.
Luke 16:21-22 says, “who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.”
1 Kings 19:5-6 says, “And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat. “And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he eats and drank and lay down again.”
Messenger is found in Luke 2:8-12 and Hebrews 2:1-3.
Luke 2:8-12 says, “And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an Angel of the LORD appeared to them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the Angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the LORD. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”
Hebrews 2:1-3 says, “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,”
Watchers is found in 1 Timothy 5:21-22.
1 Timothy 5:21-22 says, “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.”
Ministers of GOD will be found in 2 Samuel 24:16.
2 Samuel 24:16 says, “And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord relented from the calamity and said to the angel who was working destruction among the people, “It is enough; now stay your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.”
Giving praises is found in Luke 15:10 and Revelation 5:11-12.
Luke 15:10 says, “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Revelation 5:11-12 says, “Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
I found angels mentioned throughout the whole Bible. As I was reading scriptures about angels, I found an interesting fact about angels in Job 38:1-7.
Job 38:1-7 says, “Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
Another interesting fact about angels is there are several places where angels are called rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12-13 tells us of an unseen world.
Ephesians 6:12-13 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”
One of the definitions for Angels is Soldiers in GOD’s army witch I found in Revelation 12:7-9.
Revelation 12:7-9 says, “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”
The scripture I think best describes why God created Angels is found in Hebrews 1:14.
Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?”
Angels were with GOD when he created us and everything on the earth. They are GOD’s helpers so that through the church the manifold wisdom of GOD might now be made known.
My question for me and the world is. Would I recognize an Angel if GOD sent one to help me?
My Prayer is, OH, Heavenly Father. Thank you for making Angels. Thank you for all their jobs. I am comforted to know that Angels are ministering spirits so I can inherit salvation. Give your Angels the power to win every battle for me. And every battle for everyone on earth so everyone will inherit salvation.
Amen
